Jelly beans? Did President Reagan have the answer? Having a bowl of little goodies to reward you for tackling and completing a task is a good idea.
Imagine if you have been procrastinating doing something. Break it down into small steps. Each time you start grab a jelly bean. When you're done, grab 2.
Now, I can just here the health-nerds screaming. But, indulging yourself here and there is fine.
Buy some jelly beans with the least amount of sugar. Or find a "healthy snack".

Crisis Talk - Don't Be Influenced By It.
The mass media is in the business of trying to get
attention. They get it through sensationalism. Their weapon
of choice is the headline. If they don't get your
attention, they lose ad dollars.
To get your attention they take extreme examples and make
you think they are common. They manufacture crisises. Do
you ever stop and think: Is this really a crisis or normal
life? Is this problem really that pervasive or very
limited? Where are the facts? Are these facts a fair and
balanced representation of the event deemed a crisis?
Even if it is a crisis, what good does it do if I get all
hyped up by it? Can I do anything?
I know many gullible souls, ah bless 'em, who are
continually talking about the latest crisis. Yet, they
never do anything about it. They are NEVER impacted by the
so called crisis. So, what was the point of getting all
worked up and bent out of shape?
Crisis talk is something you should puy in the "purely
enteratainment" category. Never take it seriously. Even if
it is a crisis, who can say what it will lead to? The media
doesn't have a crystal ball. They are clueless about the
future.
In fact, the moment they are most adamant that it's just
the tip of the iceberg and the future will be bleak, we
have hit the apex of the crisis and shortly after, it
passes. They just drop it and distance themselves from the
hype. In time people forgot that "last time they hyped
something it never came to pass".
If only people would keep a journal. "Xyz crisis: Earth to
fall out of orbit". Follow up: Never happened. "Abc crisis:
Sun to disappear". Follow up: Never happened.
Guess what would happen if you kept a diary of all these
supposed crisises? You'd have the GAME all figured out and
the next crisis you would greet with a smile.
Is the end near? Is a major catastrophe in the cards?
Possibly, but it's NOT the one they predict. They NEVER
predict events that actually do occur.
"Trustworthy insider says that the U.S. will strike Iran in
days"? I have heard that for years. Wrong, wrong, wrong,
wrong. Just the other day I read a headline saying that the
U.S. was planning an attack on Iran and had "picked up to
2,000 targets".
Say this is true (for a change). They are making something
of nothing. The military, just as businesses, engages in
"contingency planning". Preparation for possible scenarios
is actually a wise thing. It is NOTHING NEW. They have done
that since day one. Should the military instead sit around
and play poker? Big surprise: The military plans military
attacks. Next thing you know they'll report "Evil karate
expert plans for possible attacks."
"Terrorists will strike with a dirty nuclear bomb".
You have incredibly low odds of ever being a victim of
terroism. You had better put your focus on driving,
instead, as your odds of getting into a car accident are
significantly greater than being killed by a terrorist.
Your fellow citizen is a far bigger threat to your being
than some wacko in a distant cave.
"New cancer drug holds promise", etc., etc. Yada, yada. Why
don't they just shut their traps and stop giving people
false hope? I can't imagine one person who benefits from
constantly having the hope rug pulled out from under him.
Just keep quiet until the cure is official!
Why don't they?
It's simple: It's called filler! They would be out of jobs
were it not for the strategy of hype spewing.
And, fine, they can spew hype. BUT, just don't take it to
heart. It's just entertainment. So long as you never
forget: It's hype. And hype is for entertainment purposes
only.
Look. The truth is: When there is a cure for something you
will find out without ever reading a line of type. It'll be
everywhere. Just like with Advil.
The best thing to do is ignore predictions and adjust to
outcomes (99.99% of the predictions will never come to
pass).
The media has a LOUSY batting average - and there's ZERO
accountability. No one tracks all these predictions and
follows up with them. When a politician makes a promise or
prediction but doesn't keep it, the media is all over them.
BUT, when the media does it... no problem, they get off
scott free.
We need a news source that tracks the media's predictions.
*** Never be influenced by crisis talk. And forget dire
predictions. Over and over again I have heard doom and
gloom predictions and never have they come to pass. Never
will they. Or, when they do, there'll be nothing we can do
about it.
The ONLY crisises I have to worry about are the ONES I
create or the ones perpetrated on me by fellow citizens or
father time.
Put your attention on yourself, your family and those you
come in contact with. That's your jurisdiction. The rest?
You can't do squat about it. All the efforts of the common
man are as inconsequential as a grain of sand in the Sahara
(for things outside his sphere).
You want to hear about a REAL crisis?
Aging is the TRUE crisis and no one is doing anything about
it. Despite all the hype about medical advances, people
still look old, and frankly, they look awful (wrinkled,
bald, etc.). And, they aint stopping the clock from
ticking.
They make a big deal out of the fact that people now live a
bit longer than 20 years ago! Big whoop: Another year with
bad hearing, senility, wrinkles, balding, lack of energy,
pets dying, friends dying, family members dying, regrets,
2nd guessing, longing for youth and the past, diseases,
etc.
And, death, there's a REAL CRISIS and they can't do squat
about it.
That's how it is: The only crisis affecting us directly,
they don't mention, and can't do jack about it.

Is There An Article In You?
Is There An Article In You? The best way to find out is to start writing articles now! The way to do is to "go with the flow". Do it fast. To think and write fast you have to practice thinking and writing fast. The key is to set a deadline and then wrap it up. Then see it "in print". That's how you improve.
So, set aside 10 minutes to outline your article. Do some research (basically grab one statistic). Then write it up. Do a spell check. Take a break. Then proofread it.
Don't be a perfectionist!
Okay, fire it off to http://ArticlesAndChecklists.net
If that's too tough, at the moment, why not create a checklist and send it to http://ArticlesAndChecklists.net
Then take a look at how it looks, live. That's how you learn! Ready-Fire-Aim. Don't bog down.
See ya!

About Encryption and Making Your System Secure
What does encryption do for me?
Encryption and cryptographic software has been used in many different ways to make systems more secure. This article discusses only a few ways that such software can make your system more secure, including:
1) Encrypting your email
2) Encrypting your files
To programs are mentioned that will help encrypt information. There are many more programs out there that will help, but these programs are good and a good place to start as any. They have the added benefit of both being free with source code available.
Will encryption stop people from accessing my information?
Encryption simply makes it harder for people to gain access to important information, like passwords or sensitive information in a file. The first thing you should know about encryption is that the algorithm that is used to encrypt can be simple or more complex and that affects how securely what you have encrypted is protected. Encryption systems have been broken when the method of encryption is understood by hackers and is easy to break.
Why bother to encrypt my email?
It should be noted that email is far less secure than paper mail for two very good reasons: first, electronic data can be accessed easily over an Internet and secondly, electronic data is really simple to copy. There is a very good chance that someone has snooped around in your email despite your best intentions to stop it.
How do I go about encrypting my email?
There are many programs out there that can help you encrypt your email. A very popular one is PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) or its Gnu offshoot GPG.
PGP (http://www.pgpi.org/) self-describes itself this way: This "is a program that gives your electronic mail something that it otherwise doesn't have: Privacy. It does this by encrypting your mail so that nobody but the intended person can read it. When encrypted, the message looks like a meaningless jumble of random characters. PGP has proven itself quite capable of resisting even the most sophisticated forms of analysis aimed at reading the encrypted text."
Why bother to encrypt my files?
The answer to this boils down to what you store on your computer. If you have financial data with important information like social security numbers, email addresses, account numbers and passwords, then you open yourself up to losing very valuable information. Most corporate Internet security employees will attest to the widespread theft of very valuable information. As long as you are connected to the Internet you are vulnerable.
How do I go about encrypting my files?

Sports Cars Aren't Just Built For Speed, They Are A Thing
Of Beauty.
Cars, in general, possess both form and function. Then
there are sports cars. The designers did not compromise
aesthetics when they strove for performance. There is
something about sports cars that make them stand out when
it comes to beauty. And we are not talking about external
features alone.
So, what makes a sports car a beauty? Here are 7
characteristics that endear sports cars to car enthusiasts.
1. Sports cars have attitude at first glance.
Sports cars speak the attitude that they possess. They are
not like mere cars whose presence can be ignored. They
captivate the eyes of those who see them. They imply that
thrill and enjoyment van be expected when their hands are
those that control the wheel.
Sports cars stand above other cars, that are seen very day,
primarily because the designs imply what they are capable
of doing. A sleek look really matches a car with sleek
activities.
2. Sports cars possess greater power.
Their power comes from their more powerful engines and has
other specifications than other the cars have. A sports car
can do more than ordinary tasks because of the features
that only they possess.
3. Sports cars are made for driving pleasure.
Ordinary cars make driving monotonous and boring, while on
the other hand, sports cars primarily aim to give the
drivers a "high" feeling of speed and control. Only sports
cars can provide that need for drivers who seek adventure.
4, Sports cars bring the thrill back to driving.
They express what other cars can not. Sports cars are not
designed just for practicality, but for pleasure too.
5. Sports cars are made for drivers who enjoy their "wild
side".
Sports cars make any road a venue to satisfy those needs.
Only sports cars can match the "wildness" that drivers
innately have. For that reason, sports cars perfectly
compliment the child in every driver.
6. Sports cars have evolved and improved through the years.
Drivers appreciate the improvements that have been made to
sports cars. You could say that sports car technology has
infinite possibilities. The stereotypes of sports cars have
long been debunked. Those limits have been crossed. The
only thing that car enthusiasts can do is to watch as these
improvements unfold before their very eyes.
7. Sports cars make their owners feel good about
themselves.
Sports cars are lifeless. They cannot feel proud because
they are beautiful, but their owners take pride in having
them.
With all these things said about the intrinsic and
extrinsic beauty that sports cars possess, only a person
who does not appreciate their beauty and/or speed will not
opt to get one. The next time someone pokes fun of your
sports car desires, remember they just don't get it! It's
more than the speed, it's also the impeccable beauty.

Wooden Handicraft. How To Make a String of Hearts.
Many people love heart-shaped decorations. This cute wooden
handicraft can be hung over a doorway or as part of a wall
display. Paint the hearts red, pink, and white, and you
will have a decoration for Valentines Day. Paint them red
and green for Christmas, or red, white, and blue to display
love for America. You can leave it plain for a natural
look. The string of hearts wooden handicraft fits well with
country style furnishings.

country style furnishings.
To make the string of hearts, you will need 5 wooden heart
cut-outs approximately three inches wide, a drill with an
eighth inch bit and a quarter inch bit, a small amount of
raffia, two yards of 1 -1/2 inch wide soft ribbon, two
large wooden beads, and acrylic paints in the colors you
want. The ribbon and the beads should match the color sceme

Plaid ribbons are particularly effective. The string of
hearts has five hearts side by side tied together with
small raffia bows. The first and last hearts have the wide
ribbon strung through a hole on each side and a bead strung
on the ribbon. The ribbon is knotted at the very ends,
making a loop of ribbon on each end which can fit over a
nail for hanging.

The first step in making the wooden handicraft is to drill
a small hole on each side of the hearts. The two outside
holes are made with the quarter inch bit, and the other
holes are made with the 1/8 inch bit. Now paint the hearts
with the acrylic paint in the colors you desire. Acrylic
paints are the small bottles of craft paint that are sold
in 2-ounce bottles in a wide variety of colors. They can
sometimes be purchased very inexpensively. Tempera paint
will work if you can't get acrylic paints. Another idea is
to spray paint them, especially if you want to use a
metallic color.

When the paint is dry, tie the hearts together with the
raffia. To do this, cut four 10-inch lengths of raffia.
Thread the raffia down into one hole and up through the
hole on the next heart so that they lay side by side. The
raffia should be tied in a neat bow on the top of the
arrangement. Do the same between the rest of the hearts so
that all the small raffia bows are on top. Trim the raffia
ends if necessary.

Thread the large bead over both ends and slip it up close

the wooden handicraft. Now hang the string of hearts

Stirring Up Your Creative Juices So You Can Write A Good Article.
Writing an article isn't merely throwing down some lines of type. You have to grab the attention of the passerby. Then you need to induce them to read your masterpiece. All well and good, but how do you do this? Well, the first thing you need to do is to get into the right state of mind.
The main ingredient in writing an article is creativity. All of us have creativity. It's just that some of us are better at tapping it than others. Or, we just run into creativity blocks. Many writers get all bent out of shape when they get writers block and just can't seem to get their creative juices flowing.
Turning words into images in the reader's mind is an art. A clear and crisp depiction requires a certain flair. Similes and metaphors help a lot, but the way an article gets entwined word for word, sentence by sentence then paragraph by paragraph into a whole article develops the essence of the article.
So just what do you have to do when nothing comes to mind? There are no surefire ways to get the perfect ideas but there are methods that get your creative juices flowing. Here are five of them.
1) Keep a diary or a journal at the ready.
Ideas can be triggered by anything you may hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar in finding great ideas. When you come across an idea, just write down a telltale word or sentence, not some longwinded essay! Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere.
2) Relax and take time to sort things out.
A muddled mind is not conducive for idea generation. So, clear out your mind. Get rid of obstacles and negative stimulants that can hinder your creativity. Take breaks, get a lot of sleep, take naps, these are just a few things you can do to get a clear head.
Your experiences are what shape your mindset. From your mindset flows your writings.
Try to discover yourself, find out what triggers your emotions. Discover what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas, with this you can grow creatively.
3) Create a working place that can inspire your creativity.
Your working place can be quite a hindrance if it doesn't make you feel happy or relaxed. Creativity comes from being in a good state of mind and a messed up workplace that causes distraction won't be conducive in firing up your creative flow. A clean and well organized workplace also rids of distractions and unwanted hindrances. With a good working place, you can work in peace and never notice the time pass by.
Surround your working place with objects that makes you happy and relaxed. Put up pictures, or scents, objects that inspire, or anything that can get your creativeness cranking.
4) Set the mood.
Setting the mood requires you to just go with the moment or to induce your self to feeling what makes your mind works best. Finding out what makes you tick could help you find ways to get your creative juices flowing. Set the pace and tempo for your mood and everything else will follow.
There are many ways to set the mood. Some writers have been known to use alcohol, a little sip of wine to stir up the imagination. Some would like some mood music while others let the lighting of the environment create the mood.
5) Take a vacation and just do something different.
Letting yourself go and have fun produces adrenaline that can make your imagination go wild. Take an adventure. Go on a hike, surf, ski, or something similar. Do something outside of your daily routine that will break the rut.
There you go, I have listed 5 ways to get you into a creative and productive state of mind. Follow these tips and you will find that writing is easier and more enjoyable. In no time at all, your creativity will improve and put your imagination in overdrive. You won't necessarily be the next Hemmingway but good enough!

4 Key Items Your Articles Should Have.
Having articles on your site is a big key to getting people to visit and regularly. Article writing has been a major traffic generator offline for many years. Long before the advent of online websites, people wrote articles to entice people to visit their business. While online marketing tricks come and go, the good old-fashioned article strategy keeps marching forward. Articles are a big factor in boosting your site's rankings in search engine results. Of course, the higher a site ranks, the more traffic they get.
While gurus claim that new gimmicks are the answer to your traffic problems, they actually rely on articles and NOT the gimmick in question to reel in traffic.
But, it is not just about stuffing your site with articles. There's more to it than that. A hodgepodge of words isn't going to cut it. A well written article will catch the eyes and interest of your customers and keep them coming back for more. They would also be able to recommend your site to others.
Following are four components articles must have to make them successful (where success is pulling in the maximum amount of targeted traffic).
• Keywords and Keyword Phrases.
An article must always be include keywords and keyword phrases related to your site. As each website visitor goes to a site, there are those who are just merely browsing but actually looking for a specific something. When this happens, a searcher usually goes to a search engine and types in the keywords they are looking for (e.g. Ford Focus, flu, accountant, etc.).
There are a number of tools on the web that will help you figure out what keywords and keyword phrases are typed into search engines most often.
• Keyword Density
An article must have good keyword density. This is to entice the search engines to list your site higher in the search engine rankings. Keyword density is the percentage of your total words that are keywords. For example, if you have a 500 word article and you mention your keyword, say "golf clubs", 50 times you have keyword density of 10% (50/500).
What is the correct density? 3% - 10%. You should test it. If you have a few sites you can run experiments. One site would have 3%, another 5%, etc. Track their search engine improvement. I'd rather rely on this than some specific number that some guru spits out. It may be too "exploited" by then. The search engines are always changing to keep ahead of people. They don't want to be "figured out". They can sense when everyone is onto something. But, 3-5% seems appropriate.
Beware: A very high density can turn off the reader as well as the search engines. It looks stilted. You can just have a list of keywords! On the other hand, too low a percentage may cause it to be ignored by the search engines.
• Good Article Content
Articles must be able to entertain people as well as provide good information. Do a spell check using your software program's spell check feature. Then spell check with your own eyes. A word can be spelled right yet be the wrong word! For example, if you wrote, "This article was written by Joe an Jane Stevens..." your software would say you have no errors. However, you meant to write "and" rather than "an".
To gain trust and credibility, make sure your article is factual. A way to do this is to include facts (citing the source) and statistics, so inject those. A well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As more people believe in you. They will be able to trust you and your products.
• Including Your Link In Your Articles
If you are going to submit articles, be sure to include a link to your site. Stick it in your "resource box". A resource box includes your name, role, site name, a brief description of your site, and a link to that site. If people like your article, they may click on your link.
